Lecteurs and Maîtres de Langues (Native Speaker Assistants)

Public higher education institutions may employ native speaker assistants to teach their native language.

Who can apply?

  • The foreign language for which candidates apply must be their mother tongue or another language that they speak as well as their mother tongue.
  • Applicants for lecteur positions must hold a diploma at a level equivalent to the first year of a French Master's degree.
  • Applicants for maître de langues positions must hold a diploma at a level equivalent to a French Master's degree.

Your application must include the following documents:
  •  A CV stating your date and place of birth and nationality,
  • A cover letter,
  • A copy of your diploma, and its translation into French,
  • A copy of your passport (for non-EU nationals) or both sides of your ID card (EU nationals).
