About the organization

The Networks & Telecoms (R&T) department of IUT1 Grenoble offers a range of training courses from Bac to Bac+3. It provides students with professional skills and prepares them for careers in network administration, cybersecurity and IT development for information systems. As a lecturer, you will teach thematic courses in the form of tutorials, practical works and projects/SAE (learning and assessment situations).

Several laboratories at Grenoble Alpes University are likely to host faculty from the R&T department for their research activities. Those laboratories belong to the Mathematics, information and communication sciences (MSTIC) research department. For further information, please see the MSTIC research departement webpage.

Your mission

You will be expected to teach students and to conduct research.

Courses

Your main task will be to teach courses in computer networks, ranging from knowledge of protocols to the design of network architectures and the configuration of physical or virtualised equipment.

Particular emphasis will be placed on securing information systems. Computer science courses may also be provided.

Research

Your research activity will be carried out at a UGA laboratory from the MSTIC department covered by CNU sections 61 and 27.

 

 

Main activities

In order to carry out theses tasks, you will be expected to:

  • Work with students on various network-related courses tutorials or practical works (administration of Windows/Linux workstations or virtual machines, configuration of switches/routers, local networks/VLANs, shell scripts),
  • Supervise students on various network and IT SAEs (project follow-up, help with progress),
  • Participate in student assessments (exam design, exam supervision, corrections, defence, etc.),
  • Update teaching contents to ensure that they meet the expectations of the professional world,
  • Work with the teaching team to harmonize the acquisition of student skills,
  • Help monitor students' work in companies (internship and work-study tutoring),
  • Participate in meetings relating to the overall operations of the department.

Additionally, your research theme will have to be in line with that of a laboratory from the MSTIC research department, and to be covered by CNU sections 61 and 27.

 

 

 

Preferred qualifications

It is expected that you:

  • Have in-depth knowledge of corporate network administration and/or cybersecurity, and the ability to put it into practice and explain it clearly,
  • Have the ability to share knowledge with a wide audience (students, teachers, professional collaborators),
  • Demonstrate project management skills,
  • Have the ability to use IT collaborative work tools,
  • Demonstrate rigor and punctuality.

Salary

Starting at €2194 gross per month, depending on experience.
In addition to your salary, you will receive a monthly allowance of €105 gros
