About the organization

With more than 1,400 students, the department offers initial and continuing training in linguistics, French as a foreign language and language teaching, from undergraduate to doctoral level. In order to ensure the best possible management of its missions, the Department of Linguistics and French as a Foreign Language is divided into two sections: Linguistics and French as a Foreign Language.

The research carried out at Lidilem falls within the field of language sciences: linguistic description, sociolinguistics, language acquisition, corpus construction and analysis, language teaching, natural language processing, and the study of new forms of interaction brought about by digital technologies.

Your mission

You will be required to teach both face-to-face and distance learning courses in the Didactics of French as a Foreign Language section.
You will be attached to the LIDILEM laboratory and your role will be to participate in the work of Axis 2: Didactics of Languages.

Main activities

To carry out these tasks, you will need to :

  • Participate, within the FLE Didactics Section, in distance learning programs and serve as tutor and grader for courses in the DU FLE (University Diploma in French as a Foreign Language), and in the M1 and M2 DDL FLES track (Master’s in Language Didactics, French as a Foreign and Second Language, first year).
  • Facilitate online discussion forums, particularly for the following courses: Approaches to Literature in FLE Teaching, Introduction to FLE Didactics (DU FLE), Lexical Didactics, Grammar Didactics, Second Language Acquisition and Learning (M1 DDL FLES), as well as supervising didactic tasks within the M2 DDL FLES curriculum: design of didactic units.
  • Perform evaluation tasks (grading exams) for DU FLE distance learning courses: Approaches to Literature in FLE Teaching, Introduction to French Linguistics, Introduction to FLE Didactics, Experience of Learning a New Language. For M1 DDL FLES courses (Grammar Didactics, Lexical Didactics, Second Language Acquisition and Learning), carry out assessment tasks (practice assignments and exam grading).
  • Supervise observation reports in M1 DDL FLES on linguistic competencies and participate in their assessment.
  • Supervise, both in-person and online, master’s theses in the second year of the program.
  • Provide in-person teaching for the DDL FLES master’s program on topics such as methodology for classroom observation reports, lexical didactics, grammar didactics, academic writing, professional identity development, and second language acquisition and learning.
  • Contribute to the research of LIDILEM Axis 2: Language Didactics by engaging in one or more research activities.

Preferred qualifications

You are expected to have the following skills:

  • experience in teaching French as a foreign and second language (FLES) and the didactics of FLES to carry out your service within the Didactics of French as a Foreign Language Section of the LLASIC UFR.

Salary

Starting at €2194 gross per month, depending on experience.
In addition to your salary, you will receive a monthly allowance of €105 gros
