About the organization

Teaching structure

The courses will take place at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Grenoble, headed by Prof Walid RACHDI. It is a teaching and research unit (UFR) that trains future pharmacists and healthcare professionals in the service of patients.

Research Structure

The research will be carried out at the Alpine Ecology Laboratory (LECA), directed by Dr Wilfried THUILLER. LECA is a Joint Research Unit (UMR) affiliated with Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA), Université Savoie Mont-Blanc (USMB) and the CNRS. Research at LECA aims to understand ecosystem functioning and the maintenance of biodiversity. It is based on observation (short- and long-term), experimentation, and modeling.

Your mission

Your duties will include teaching botany, phytotherapy, phytovigilance and mycology, as well as assuming academic responsibility for a University Diploma (DU program). In research, your mission will be to characterize plant-fungal interactions able to regulate plant diversity in subalpine grasslands subjected to changes in agricultural practices, using a metabolomics-based approach.

Main activities

  • Teaching botany, phytotherapy, phytovigilance and mycology through lectures, tutorials and practical sessions to students enrolled in the Pharmacy curriculum (2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th years), the Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology for Health, the Professional Bachelor’s degree in Food Safety as well as the DU in Clinical Phytotherapy and Aromatherapy.
  • Ensure academic coordination for the DU in Clinical Phytotherapy and Aromatherapy.
  • Characterize fungal communities, metabolomic profiles and the metabolome associated with plant-fungal interactions in subalpine grasslands undergoing land-use change.

Preferred qualifications

You are expected to have the following skills:

- Advanced expertise in botany, phytotherapy, phytovigilance and mycology

- Ability to deliver lectures, tutorials and practical sessions

- Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse audiences (Pharmacy programs, Bachelor’s degrees, University Diplomas)

- Design of teaching materials and assessments

- Leadership and coordination of a DU, including organization of courses and management of instructors

- Expertise in plant-fungal interactions

- Skills in metabolomics (analysis of metabolomic profiles and the metabolome)

- Experience in conducting research projects

Salary

Starting at €2194 gross per month, depending on experience.
In addition to your salary, you will receive a monthly allowance of €105 gros
