About the organization

The Mechanical and Production Engineering (GMP) department at Grenoble IUT1 offers a range of training courses from Bac to Bac+3. These courses are designed to provide a foundation of professional skills for the mechanical engineering professions needed to bring a product to market through the first three stages of its life cycle: design, production and industrial organization.

For further information, please see the Grenoble IUT1 website (available in French only).

G-SCOP is a multidisciplinary laboratory that meets the scientific challenges posed by changes in the industrial world. The laboratory's scope ranges from product design to production systems management, utilizing skills in optimization.

For further information, please see the G-SCOP laboratory's website.

Your mission

You will join the teaching team of the GMP department at Grenoble IUT 1. You will have to teach various modules related to the general field of mechanical production, including product design, dimensioning and manufacturing, as well as industrial engineering.

As a member of one of the G-SCOP laboratory's teams, you will contribute to mechanical engineering work focused on the design and management of industrial systems that meet the highest standards of sustainability and human development.

Main activities

You will teach students throughout the 3 years of the BUT program, and will deliver lectures, practicals (TP) and tutorials (TD) on all or part of the courses defined below according to the department's needs and your skills.

The modules concerned are:

  • Industrial production organization
  • Mechanical systems design
  • Production, methods and metrology
  • Control systems

You will also have to supervise 2nd and 3rd year BUT students on industrial internships and you may have to tutor student projects.

Additionally, it is expected that you propose a research program that could be integrated into the work of the laboratory's COSYS team.

Possible research directions include:

  • Contributing to the expension of the circular economy by defining, deploying, and evaluating experimental use cases.
  • Designing innovative and customized workstations integrated into production lines. This requires the mobilization or development of advanced technologies such as VR, AR, AI, IoT, and collaborative robots (cobots) for efficient production management.
  • Developing systems that utilize targeted engineering methods for capacitive solutions.

Preferred qualifications

The following skills are expected from applicants:

  • Technical knowledge of mechanical engineering and the industrial environment.
  • Skills and know-how:
    • User-centered design,
    • Industry 4.0 tools and technologies,
