About the organization

You will teach at the Faculty of Pharmacy and carry out research at the Hypoxia and Cardiovascular and Respiratory Physiopathologies laboratory.

The Faculty of Pharmacy has more than 1,600 students, enrolled in the training program for future pharmacists, as well as in the Bachelor's in Biotechnologies for Health and Master's in Health Engineering (including several M1 and M2 courses). Further information on the Faculty's website (in French).

The Hypoxia and Cardiovascular and Respiratory Physiopathologies laboratory - HP2 - (Inserm U1300, UGA) focuses on understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying the cardiovascular and metabolic complications of sleep apnea syndrome. Further information on the laboratory's website.

Your mission

You will provide a full teaching service (192h) in physiology at the Faculty of Pharmacy, in the pharmacy curriculum, in the Bachelor's degree in Biotechnologies for Health and in the Master's degree in Health Engineering.

You will develop a research activity within the HP2 laboratory.

Main activities

You will provide 192 hours of teaching in the form of lectures, tutorials and practical exercises in physiology at the Faculty of pharmacy (pharmacy curriculum, Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology for Health and Master's degree in Health Engineering).

You will mainly teach the following:

  • Cardiovascular physiology,
  • Endocrinology,
  • Nervous system,
  • Integrated physiology,
  • Human pathophysiology.

Some teaching of general pharmacology may also be part of your service.

Additionally, you will be expected to participate in the fundamental research themes of the HP2 laboratory, which studies the mechanisms underlying cardiovascular and metabolic damage induced by chronic exposure to intermittent hypoxia, as found in patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome.

Preferred qualifications

You are expected to have the following skills:

  • Sound knowledge of human physiology and pathophysiology (cardiovascular, renal, metabolism, endocrinology),
  • Pedagogical skills for teaching (inverted pedagogy in particular),
  • Expertise in rodent experimentation,
  • Technical expertise in biochemistry and molecular biology,
  • Experience in cell culture would be ideal,
  • Teamwork.

Salary

Starting at €2194 gross per month, depending on experience.
